I believe that incorporating a design pattern into every program serves as a more comprehensive guide. By doing so, one doesn't have constantly rethink the best use case for a given situation as mindsets and ideas regarding these best practices are constantly evolving. It's better to stick to a pattern and have micro services based on different patterns depending on the task at hand.
